Real quick, I'd like to thank fuzz-hatted furverts from the Anthrocon Convention — the animal-costumed lot, tongues wagging from the oddest orifices — for joining the awesomest weekend ever: the annual one where Greek Afro-centric frat-sters and way-gay filmmakers join forces. Y'all make my life complete. … WHOWHATWHERE: Sure, there were plenty of directors from 2005's Philadelphia Int'l Gay & Lesbian Film Festival at the Fabric/Hamburger Mary bash last week. "That guy there … with the biceps," said TLA Entertainment's Rich Wolf, as if nobody else had Popeye arms. Let's find a recognizable face at the fest's closeout at Transit July 16: three parties, one roof, with Sex Dwarf, Freak and Vesago. In related news, Mark Wahlberg ate at Smith & Wollensky. Mark'll be around filming Invincible, starring as Vince Papale, the ex-Eagle whose Joisey home has a surprise party brewing for Wahlberg. Boys, that's the bash to hit. In really unrelated news: Jamaican songsters Luciano and Dean Fraser hung at Reef in pre-celebration of Jamaican Dave's 5th Annual Summer Reggae Jam at Kahunaville July 17. … Then there's Pauly Shore, who was here Friday to wrap up TBS' Minding the Store, the show where he takes control of mom Mitzi Shore's legendary Comedy Store in Los Angeles. "It's my family business, so it doesn't suck to be there," says Shore between a Tower Broad Street signing and the Four Seasons. Though noted for liking the rocker chicks during his Weeeeeeezel days, Philly's big attention was all male. "I found a new friend, Lou Levine, this little, skinnier Santa Claus-looking guy, while I was signing," says Shore. "I put him in a shirt for the new show and he danced for me the whole time." … How the frigg have KeN — Philly's pretty-in-punk "Angry Old Ladies" — never put out a CD? You ask them when they debut Parade of Sinners

July 16 at The Khyber. … As if getting voted "Geezer of the Year" by Big Cheese mag t'warn't enough, Acey Slade and his shock-and-awesome Trashlight Vision (finishing up their debut, Alibis and Ammunition) hit Abilene July 14 before heading back on tour with The Misfits. … We hear Philadelphia Style and its sister DC Style retained the PR services of Lou Hammond & Associates outta New York. Not sure what this means for its Philly friends at Cashman & Associates. Lou has nicer paper stock. The Cashman girls — Jonny Makeup, too — are foxier. You decide.… You won't have jazzish singah Erika Schiff to kick around. The blonde bombshell took herself off market to record. Last week's last gig at Tin Angel? That was surreptitiously recorded for a live CD to be given to the sold-out eve's attendees. Don't say her manager, David Carroll, never gave you nothing. … So many sophomoric jokes, so little time: 1.) Long-ago Apropos/White Dog Café chef Aliza Green hits Liberties Restaurant July 14 to chat up her new book The Field Guide to Meat. 2.) The Kimmel's Verizon Hall gets one of the largest organs in the U.S. next week. … Check Chimes and Gardens, the beautiful Fripp-meets-Sonic Youth-like trio, sometimes featuring Temple of Bon Matin drummer Ed Wilcox, July 14 at Millcreek. Two nights later, thick experimental beard folk-ers The Tressels debut downtown at Millcreek July 16. "We're musical paint thinner," says Big Dirty Tressel. I'm in. www.purevolume.com/thetressels. … Why is ABC's daytime soaps division closing down Delancey between 20th and 21st on July 23, and what the hell could that possibly have to do with a hip-hop DJ? … Don't be cheap. Hook up Philly Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy patient Joanne Mullarkey with money July 15 at The Five Spot. For your ducats, you'll get WYSP's Frank Lario, Halestrom and John Torres. Info www.wdox.com. … MC King Wenclas brings his Underground Literary Alliance overground for lit shows July 15 at Ellen Powell Tiberino's Museum (3819 Hamilton) and July 16 (5 p.m.) at the divey, late-night Medusa with Jack Saunders (hawking Bukowski Never Did This), Ish Klein, the Masked Prof and others you don't know about because you're too busy reading gossipy trash like mine. … So you celebrated Tommy Up, Cosmo Baker and Rachel Inc. 's multiple b-day with a human frappé hot-tub/cabana/Bawdy Girls' bash at Caesars A.C. and got no birthday love left. C'maahn, there's Rick D and his Tritone's b-day July 18; you can say nice things to Notebook comedy open mic guy Russell Brand when he hosts the Live Arts/Fringe party at Bar Noir July 18; and damn it, the Woods Inky scribe Sam and Lisa, had twin daughters, Nora and Betsy. Mazel and tov. … Finally, because I haven't given him any shit in 10 years, Jeffery Gaines will play for pizza at Gullifty's 30th Celebration Concert — on the Main Line July 16. Atsa nize.
