Oxford Collapse

Rock/Pop

If girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice, Oxford Collapse is made of sweat and spit and a thousand hangovers. The spastic guitars and earthshaking drums are enough to move any Gang of Four devotee, but the cocksure vocals satisfy the palate in that sweet-and-sour New Yawk way. If you're like us, you dug last year's Some Wilderness but you're also way lame and missed April's show at Bryn Mawr College with fellow NYC booty-shakers Cause Co-motion! Now they're back with a new album, A Good Ground (Kanine Records), and macho Canadian indie rockers the Constantines. We must not make the same mistake twice.

Sun., July 10, 8 p.m., $10, with Constantines and Get Him Eat Him, North Star Bar, 27th and Poplar sts., 215-684-0808, www.northstarbar.com.
