Crammed into the tiny ass Fluid nightclub for four years, this weekly Squarebiz jam has become a regular stop for Saturday night partygoers seeking a mix of past and present hip-hop, reggae, house, R&B and snack cakes. To kick off the anniversary festivities, regular Tastytreats DJ Mike Nyce, host Yameen and promoter Stacey Wilson will welcome Luv Bug Starski, the first DJ ever to play in a stadium venue. Afrika Bambaataa credits Starski for establishing the word hip-hop to describe the culture in its early days. These days the DJ/MC is still playing gigs and teaches at the Scratch DJ Academy in NYC. As if bartender Rashid's Long Island Ice Teas weren't enough to keep you running to the unisex bathrooms, there will be an open Stoli bar from 10 to 11 p.m, and complimentary drink passes provided by the Stoli girls. Sweet.
Sat., May 28, 10 p.m., 21+, $10, Fluid, 613 S. Fourth St., 215-629-0565, www.squarebiz.org.
