Sure, if you're a real bingo fanatic, you could play with your grandparents and their friends. But it would be a lot more entertaining if you went to Gay Bingo. A fundraiser for AIDS organizations, Gay Bingo is anything but the typical game. Originally hosted by Chumley and Carlota (the latter being arguably Philadelphia's most famous drag queen), the event now features Elise I. Hadsome as emcee. But such beloved traditions as BVDs -- drag queen "Bingo Verifying Divas" who roller-skate around checking players' cards -- remain. But don't be fooled: this is not some evening of debauchery. It's just good, clean fun. (Church groups and families show up in droves.) All in all, this may be the most fun you'll ever have for a good cause. Every month is a different theme: November's is Broadway, so expect plenty of jokes about showtunes.
Broadway Gay Bingo, Sat., Nov. 22, 6 p.m., $15-$20, Gershman Y, 401 South Broad St., 215-731-9255.
