Combining the melancholic inevitability of Come with a forlorn voice that suggests Will Oldham after ingesting Jeff Buckley, the music of Dubliner Adrian Crowley is bleak, stark and beautiful, like being pulled off into a lulling, slightly menacing sleep. When You Are Here You Are Family (Ba Da Bing!) was produced by Steve Albini, who recently brought us the similarly enthralling Nina Nastasia. It's a travelogue of sorts, both physical and emotional, where Crowley knows all the best roadside attractions, not to mention the side roads where you can pull over and shut your eyes for a spell.
