April 24-30, 2003 food Off The MenuAfter successful runs in Atlanta and Miami, Turner Classic Movies (www.turnerclassicmovies.com) brings its traveling show to Philly for an eight-week engagement at Trust (121 S. 13th St., www.trustrestaurant.com). The series kicks off April 28 with Casablanca. Singin’ in the Rain, Lolita, Gigi, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, Kiss Me Kate, North by Northwest and The Philadelphia Story will follow on subsequent Mondays (All shows start at 8 p.m.). The movies will be shown in the lounge and will be visible from the bar and dining areas. There won’t be a cover charge and dinner reservations will be accepted. Call 215-629-1300. DAS was also behind the designs of Le Bec-Fin, Savona, Novelty and Twenty 21, and provided architectural services for Stephen Starr’s Pod and Morimoto … Speaking of Starr, the image-conscious restaurateur recently brought back Tangerine (232 Market St., www.tangerinerestaurant.com) designers David Schefer and Eve-Lynn Schoenstein of New York to re-imagine the restaurant’s lounge. City Tavern chef/proprietor Walter Staib will provide the food when the Lord Mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, speaks at the German Society of Pennsylvania (611 Spring Garden St., www.germansociety.org) on May 1, 6 to 8 p.m. Wowereit will be in town for Equality Forum (formerly PrideFest America -- see the article on p. 9).
