J.T. Donaldson

Since he co-founded Fairpark Records in 1997, J.T. Donaldson has been dishing out an enticing array of deep, soulful house with a West Coast edge — sometimes track-y, sometimes dubby, jazzy, tainted with tribal drums or vocals and always rich and funky. Deep house DJs across the globe drop at least one Donaldson track in every set. Once Fairpark was no more, the Dallas DJ and producer relocated to Chicago, where he roomed with Gemini and mixed Dialect (Distance) and Duality (Cyclo) before concentrating on his 2nd Shift project with Tim Shumaker. After completing a full-length album for Seasons Recordings, Donaldson moved to Los Angeles (where his deep, funk-driven West Coast house sound is right at home) to work and live with Lance DeSardi and Chris “CPENN” Penny. Up to this point, Donaldson has dropped releases on labels like Cajual, Push & Pull, Naked Music, Music for Freaks — the list goes on. This is his second visit to our soul-slurping city — this time to join fellow house gurus Rob Paine and his Worship Recordings crew. Donaldson’s immaculate mixing and butt-movin’, soul-groovin’, organic-meets-synthetic house rhythms will soothe your soul and unite the dancing energy in one intimate room.
