January 2- 8, 2003 cover story Editor's Note: City Paper received 74 stories and close to 500 poems for its 2002 Writing Contest. CP staffers chose 14 fiction finalists, from which judge Jennifer Weiner chose one winner and one runner-up. Poetry judge Gil Ott read all of the poems entered into the contest, from which he chose one winner and three runners-up. (Names of finalists and runners-up and samples of the runners-up's work can be found on our website, www.citypaper.net.) The winners and judges of the 2002 contest will read from their work Thu., Jan. 9, 7:30 p.m., at Borders Books & Music, 1724 Walnut St., 215-568-7400. Admission is free and all are welcome.
