Calling all breakers, DJs and MCs: Put your money where your mouth is at The Foundation's acclaimed open mic, The Gathering. NYC's Enfaminte Black, Sergio and Streets will be the featured artists with DJ M-Ski on the ones and twos. Thu., Dec. 19, 10 p.m., free, The Rotunda, 4012 Walnut St., 215-735-7700, www.foundationarts.org.

Saturday night is this week's triple threat: 1) In the spirit of the Holidaze, expect gifts galore as party-goers are showered with free vinyl, CDs, toys, remote control cars and more at the Karma Response Unit Records X-Mas Party. The stage is set for a great deal of mic-rockin' from Thee Phantom, Reef, Fowlmowf, Fine Artz, The Flight Bros., Jake Lefco, Lost Talent, NeXus and Uncle T while DJ Skoopy McDroogen spins classic hip-hop. And it's all hosted by none other than Prophets of the Ghetto's Au Purpis. Everybody say Ho! Ho! Ho! Sat., Dec. 21, 9 p.m.-2 a.m., $5, La Tazza, 108 Chestnut St., 215-922-7322, happgeez@hotmail.com. P.S.: The only way to find out the secret of Skoopy is to be in the house. 2) Out goes the call again: It's Ms. Stefanie Renee's wonderful monthly platform for spoken-word artists, singer/songwriters, musicians, MCs and vocalists, Linguistics. Step onstage and claim that fame. Sat., Dec. 21, 8 p.m., free, The Rotunda. Oh, and, there's free snacks too! And, 3) DJ Meddafore’s Birthday Bash boasts another long lineup. Hosted by EZ Jase and Tim Savage, it's mic madness with live performances by Tribeca, Doujah Raze, Christopher Rucker, Storm the Unpredictable, The Masters, Digs Darklighter, Splitt, O-D-D, Ill Raggaz, Born Unique, Chanziz R and Ill Natural. Whoooo! And now, the DJs: Yoshi, Synystr, Jeyone and Chasekillz. Proceeds go to the Lancaster County Shelter for Abused Women. Sat., Dec. 21, 8 p.m.-3 a.m., $5 before 11 p.m., $10, G's Blackhouse, 51st St. and Lancaster Ave., meddafore@aol.com. Med's party is shelling out gifts from Raptivism Records and L-R-G (yes, the hot clothing line worn by Philly's own Baby Blak and The Roots). P.S.: 18 to enter, kids.

The cold weather can't stop hip-hop. As usual, Cosmo Baker's got The Remedy. This week's preventative shot is coming live and direct from Floss Angeles as DJ John L whips up a tribute to "the decade that none of us can forget" (as much as some of us would like to), the '80s! Mon., Dec. 23, 10 p.m.-2 a.m., free before 11 p.m., $5, Fluid, 613 S. Fourth St., 215-629-0565, miss7dollars@aol.com.
