Beatlemania Now Project

Guess The Clash were wrong when they said, "Phony Beatlemania has bitten the dust," because for the Beatlemania Now Project, reliving the legendary career of the Fab Four is still a well-executed labor of love. The Project has been a touring entity for over a decade, performing a nice mix of dinner theater, cabaret and a rock show incorporating replicas of different period Beatle clothing and instruments. The Project's performance at the Point this week will be The Two of Us: John & Paul Unplugged, with John and Paul being represented in their Abbey Road-era by Scot Arch and Ricky Vacca. Performing in character, the duo will dig through The Beatles' back catalog as well as each artist's solo career, while portraying both the love and the tension that eventually broke up the band. Local musician Jim Boggia will be opening the show, covering a selection of solo George Harrison songs, a nice prologue to an evening with Lennon and McCartney.
