Mozart Goes to School

The Philadelphia Classical Symphony family concerts are like no others. Karl Middleman is more of a ringmaster than a conductor, and his themed kiddie shows encompass a range of artistic activities, including music. This Sunday's extravaganza is entitled "Mozart Goes to School," with a concert section that explores the nature of musical genius. Ten-year-old Caeli Veronica Smith will be the violin guest soloist. The music is preceded by storytelling, dancing, sing-alongs and costume-making with an 18th-century twist.

Philadelphia Classical Symphony Family Concert, Sun., Nov. 10, noon, $10, Gershman Y, Jewish Community Center, Broad and Pine sts., 610-664-8481.
