September 12-18, 2002 mixpicks Framing PhashionFrom 1999's biker-babe-themed "Runway on the Street" to last year's mirthful "Under the Big Top," the now-annual Phashion Phest always outdoes itself when high-style meets high-concept. Under this year's banner, "Window Shopping," the ninth gathering of couture retailers, designers, jewelers, models, spa-goers and their doppelganging hangers-on will schmooze and stare as producer Sharon Phillips Waxman and SPW Productions takes over the Great Plaza for a long runway show of the area's shops. Along with honoring designatrix Nicole Miller, you'll find yourself -- man or woman -- kneeling before the altar of stores like Pileggi on the Square, Versace and Saks showing off designers like Cavalli, Vivienne Tam, McQueen and more. During the pre-show, salon and store owners will comment on fall trends while their models strut, creating an interactive mini-show. Whether or not you're moved by Moschino, you'll be intrigued by this array of baubles, bodies and beads. What else lasts in the fast-forward world of fashion for nine years? Phashion Phest 2002, Wed., Sept. 18, 6 p.m., $35-$60, Festival Pier on Penn’s Landing, 267-321-7724.
