(Jaws theme playing, getting louder ... and louder) Just when you thought it was safe to frolic about in the calm Philadelphia club waters, things done changed again. Just a week after songbird/poet/educator Ms. Stephanie Renée abdicated her throne as Vibe Mistress, there's another shakeup at the Bynum-owned Soul Sanctuary: The Sunday-night turntable-tinged event, XFAD, is no more, and neither is Spin Cycle, the Thursday-night slot hosted by DJ Lil' Dave and his Ill Vibe Collective. Check back for an all-new concept for Thursdays. Premiering on Sunday is Verse-Us, some mo' live hip-hop. MCs and DJs looking for a gig should contact Naila Mattison-Jones at nailamj@onebox.com. Sun., July 14, 8 p.m., Soul Sanctuary, 722 Arch St., 215-413-9900, www.soul-sanctuary.net, $10.

Let's not forget it's Method Monday time, as Remix magazine coverboy DJ Shadow takes over the TLA. Mon., July 15, 334 South St., www.electricfactory.com, 8 p.m., $20 in advance, $22 day of show. And oh yes, make sure to dip around the corner to The Remedy, as DJ Cosmo Baker rips it up on the ones and twos for the true school. Mon., July 15, Fluid, 613 S. Fourth St., 215-629-0565, 10 p.m.-2 a.m., $7.

(Jaws theme playing again) Before The Groove found its home at Soul Sanctuary, it kicked it lovely at South Street Blues, and before that, hump night was the home of the Motive/Okayplayer jam sessions. Well, the spot is hot once again, as the Wednesday Night Jam Sessions continue with a live band led by Erik Tribbett (yes, Jilly's lil' drummer boy) and hostess Poetica. Sing, rhyme, play your instrument, clap ya hands or flip the floetics. Wed., July 17, South Street Blues, 21st and South sts., 215-546-9009, 9:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m., $5 gets you in with a discount drink ticket.

Oh yeah, in case you didn't know, since some brainiac decided they would try to keep it a secret, it's Greek Picnic weekend! Bring on the thong-backed biker mamis and the incredible South Street police presence, and witness Philly as it becomes one big parking lot! Sheesh, it's all Greek to me.
