Striking High

When was the last time you went bowling -- or even glow-in-the-dark bowling-- and had it mean something other than an opportunity to wear your Sailor Jerry sport shirt? Now, City of Hope, Dennio Productions and Playdrome Bowling are asking you to Bowl for Hope to raise necessary funds for research and treatment of HIV/AIDS and various related lymphoma at the City of Hope's Cancer Center and Beckman Research Institute. They don't just want you, though. They need you, and they need you to gather your business team, gang or group of choice to collectively host your own lane: There'll be 36 lanes and 36 hosts in the competition. While listening to Ms. Reenie Kane spin, you and your seven teammates have the opportunity to defeat your deadly rivals and win a group trip to Costa Rica. So pick those seven folks wisely.

Bowling for Hope, Mon., June 17, 7 p.m., Playdrome Bowling and Entertainment Center, 1536 N. Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, N.J., 800-344-8169.
