Pete Moss

Anyone miss the defunct Steady Saturdays at Fluid, where Pete Moss and Sean Thomas used to spin a funky, jazzy, metronomic joyride through ultra-deep, soothingly soulful, alluringly vocal house music? Well, it seems like the deep house flava here in Philly will never die. Moss is back with a new weekly every Sunday called Recline Sundaze, this time, for no cover at the exquisite SoMa Lounge in Old City -- where Moss' Philly house contemporaries like Deep C and Chris Udoh have already been packing the place to the gills every Monday night. Moss continues to be one of house music's most prominent DJs/producers, carries on his own Recline imprint, has releases on labels like Ovum, Earthtones, Siesta, Ritual, Large, Alola, Dessous and Society Hill, has a full-length featuring Terra Deva due out soon on Definity, and continues to mesmerize clubs all over the world with his rich, enchanting 4/4 soul-bliss. Expect nothin' but a lot of ass-shaking and soul-slurping in this intimate room jam-packed with house-heads guzzling down $2 Yuenglings. Also expect local house-heroes like Carl Michaels, Sean Thomas, Rob Paine and O'Keef to share the decks with Moss from time to time.

Recline Sundaze with Pete Moss, every Sunday, 10 p.m. - 2 a.m., SoMa Lounge, 33 S. Third St., 215-873-0222.
