Yipes! That’s fast. Michael Aregood -- known to y’all as DJ, Proto-programmer and Jugo’s bud Argo -- followed up on my report weeks back that Proto was sold to suits once involved around Evolution. (Some things are never clear.) Though Jugo said, “As of June 1 the club will be under new ownership and management,” he prolly didn’t know, on May 31, all bets would be off. Argo writes in an e-mail, “Tonight’s Mud People at Proto has been canceled. New people have bought the club and are anxious to start their commercial trance vibe.” No kidding. Mud People will continue June 28 at Media Bureau. … Know what else’s fast?: opening Philly’s first authentic Bar Française, the deep bleu l’Hexagone. Smack dab in the centre of le nouveau French Quarter (Sansom between 17th and 18th), Jean-Wilfrid Thibault and Raphael Perrier open all 1,500 square feet on June 6. Anyone familiar with either the Parisien Left Bank or those Buddha Bar CD compilations will adore l’H’s antique French signage, vintage posters, international staff, housey mod-musique to match its swank environs, as well as its menu of French-only vins blancs et rouges, croque-monsieur and charcuterie. Get yer lillet on at l’Hexagone.… Rosenbach Museum’s exhib spot (2008 Delancey) opened with Bloom’s Fork, Greg Giovanni’s freak-flag-Philly take on Joyce’s Ulysses. Don’t dally: Fork blooms June 6-8.… Call Cardinal Law: Dan Contarino’s baby, Madi, is in June’s gay-porn mag Randy in a spread on Dan’s 2002 Blue Ball bash. Ave.… Happy to report the Rittenhouse Claridge peeps who GM/own the property of Neil Stein’s Rouge won’t be letting their tenant go till 2017. (By that time, Neil’ll be in St. Bart’s.) Mr. Hand dies at midnight.… June 7’s Sugar Town at the Balcony hosts Philly’s most honorable lady punk Palmyra Delran -- she’s the garage gal behind The Friggs, Pink Slip Daddy, Dr. Bombay and now The Booty Olympics. Also on the bill: Thorazine, The Harps and Anti Emz.… Fashion Group International (Philly division) hosts a networking bash of updates of Goldman Properties’ 13th St. projects, glimpses at new acquisitions and tours of luxury lofts and available retail spots, June 11 at Trust.… How NBC peacock: Ben Morgan’s Sand Family Singers infiltrate the Fire on June 7, with Chris Shepherd Happening.… Bad news for Shampoo: Due to NYC customs, the barge that held bubbles shipped from Spain for last week’s Foam Party launch was not released. Good news: The party launches June 7 for its Gay Pride Weekend Party.
