May 30-June 5, 2002 naked city Border Lines
Where: Walnut Street to Spring Garden Street, Seventh Street to the Delaware River. Who lives there: Some of the hip socialites who flock to Market Street on weekends, well-salaried business folk and artists and 20-somethings who managed to find affordable rents. What it looks like: A mix of older industrial buildings and expensively converted lofts, with a wealth of art galleries, local fashion shops and chi-chi restaurants. At street level it's all neon and shiny, but it's colonial bricks and brownstones from the second floor up. Cobblestone alleys and the remnants of 18th century residences round out the city's most historic neighborhood.
