Supersuckers

Rock/Pop

You may find it odd that the Supersuckers, the self-proclaimed "Greatest Rock 'n' Roll band in the World" released a country album a few years back. But it was no passing phase; they chose to make a live country CD the first release on their Mid-Fi label. Must've Been Live puts aside the Supersuckers' hard-edged, Motörhead-meets-Ramones brand of rock to document their sometimes under-appreciated country and western tunes. A Supersuckers country song, however, doesn't differ much from one of their rockers -- three to four chords and tongue-in-cheek lyrics dealing with topics that range from habitual drug use ("Non-addictive Marijuana") to, well, habitual drinking ("Hungover Together"). It may not be as loud, but it'll be just as rockin'.
