Who: Students and educators from the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University; healthcare workers employed at the area’s numerous hospitals; a large African-American community; a vibrant immigrant population.
What It Looks Like: Victorian and Queen Anne-style rowhomes; modern and postmodern buildings, such as the Michael Graves-designed Drexel University dormitory at 32nd and Race; retail strips; cherished green space like Clark Park, between Baltimore and Woodland Avenue and 43rd and 45th Street.
Why It’s a Good Place to Live: "It’s a nice area where people are trying to work things out," says Steven Minicola, taking a break from playing with his dog Blakey in Clark Park.
