Gay Gifts/Dyke Flicks

You're here, you're queer or maybe you're just lookin' for a beer — whatever your pleasure, you have two festive gay activities to choose from this weekend. First, the Miami-style restaurant Pompano Grille will host an evening of "Fabulously Gay Gifts" to benefit ActionAIDS. Hosted by the devilishly stylish Pauluna, the show will feature selections from lingerie/ sleepwear/ sex gadget shop The Mood. I must say the last fashion show I caught at Pompano was a little disorganized, but with Pauluna and ActionAIDS involved it's likely to be much more professional.

Speaking of more professional, let's hope the Phila. premiere of She's Real: Worse Than Queer does a better job of chronicling women in rock than Not Bad For A Girl, which screened at International House last Wednesday. She's Real, "a documentary about punk dykes" by Lucy Thane, features members of Tribe 8, Team Dresch, Vitapup, Kathleen Hanna, Phranc and others.
