It’s pretty rare for an artist’s first exhibition to double as a career retrospective, but Joe Teller’s an unusual case. The 88-year-old artist apparently never thought of displaying his watercolors and oil paintings until his oddball magician son (yes, of Penn and…) decided to reproduce some of his father’s works in When I’m Dead All This Will Be Yours, a book released last year. The senior Teller, who made his living designing newspaper ads, will be showing 20 still lifes, nature scenes and abstract works spanning 65 years. Both father and son will welcome visitors at the opening reception.
