Cindy Dall may have done Prince one better with her new album. By refusing to title the record or even put her name on it, there's no way to really ask for it except look for the cover with the Japanese painting of a woman in a flowing dress (it's supposed to go under "Untitled" but how many record stores have that section in their bins?). Perhaps it might just be best to buy one from her when she comes to town. A longtime collaborator with Smog's Bill Callahan, this lo-fi chanteuse and her solo music sit nicely alongside Lisa Germano's and Liz Phair's. On Untitled, Dall's ethereal vocal is offset bysimple and hypnotic instrumentation influenced by country and east Indian raga. Jim O' Rourke of Gastr Del Sol will open up the show. Expect a mix of solemn folk and stratospheric noise offered up by one man and his guitar.
