And if the weekly "league" meetings aren't enough, this season they'll have a new radio show as well.
"Fantasy Football '97" will air every Saturday, starting Aug. 16, 2 to 3 p.m., on WNWR 1540-AM. Hosts Samuel Caplan, editor and publisher of Fantasy Football Insider, and Adam Caplan, columnist for CBS Sportsline, will discuss results and upcoming games.
Fantasy Football generally works like this: a bunch of guys form a league, and select real NFL players for their "teams" in a pre-season draft. These players' stats points scored, yards gained, etc. are translated into points after each game, and these determine the league participants' rank each week.
As with everything else in the NFL, money usually is involved. Think of it as interactive gambling.
