Dogman: One who owns, trains or breeds dogs for fighting.

Gameness: A dog’s will to fight until victory or death.

Legger: A dog trained to attack opponent’s legs during match.

Nuts: A dog trained to attack opponent’s testicles during match.

Digger: A dog trained to dig into opponent’s chest during match.

Cur: A dog showing fear or lacking gameness.

Light mouth: A dog with less power but more endurance (think Evander Holyfield).

Heavy mouth: A dog with explosive power but less endurance (think Mike Tyson).

Roll/Match: A dog fight, often well organized.

Snatch/Schooling/Test: An informal fight of short duration, usually for training.

Turn: Turning away from opponent during match, indicating an unwillingness to continue.

Scratch: Dividing line in the pit. Dogs must cross scratch line or forfeit match.
