Buffster Zone

Poor Buffy. Chosen to rid the world of vampires and other nasties, she’s also cursed with constant boy troubles and a stupid name. Not to mention the fact that, as of Tuesday, she apparently is dead. Despite all of this (and her impending move from the almost respectable WB to UPN, home of WWF Smackdown), Buffy has got something going for her: Her show, created by Joss Whedon, is arguably the smartest, funniest and most engrossing soapy-action series on television today. Unpredictable twists like the heartwrenching season finale (she can’t be dead! No, really, she can’t) have made Buffy a popular franchise, with fans as rabid as any self-respecting Trekkie. Loyalists will gather this Friday at Borders to chat with Lisa Clancy, editor of a series of books inspired by the Buffster and her pals.
