The Painted Bride’s Day of The Poet wraps up their fifth anniversary season this week with a Grand Slam Season Finale rocking way past the witching hour. The closing festivities include: 1) a special presentation by a collective of young city wordsmiths from North Philly’s Village of Arts and Humanities; 2) a unique, videotaped showcase by members of the Inmate Poetry Project at Graterford Prison; and 3) making the trip down from New York City, DOTP welcomes special guests from the world-renowned Nuyorican Poets Café. It ain’t over yet — 4) the Grand Poetry Slam Finale, where poets, spoken word artists, MCs and all other "desperate characters" will compete for the year-ending Slam title. Yes, DOTP founder, curator and slam-master Kevin O’Neill plays host with his Technics sidekick DJ Razor Ramone on the tables.
