Repeat Offender

"A depiction of a state of being in which certain behaviors are enacted compulsively, broken away from (only to be replaced by different obsessions), and obstinately returned to and reenacted." That’s how composer Eric Moe describes his work Repeat Offender, which the Network for New Music will perform at the Mary Louise Curtis branch of the Settlement Music School. The concert falls under the auspices of the Wexler Contemporary Music Series, the best outlet for new and rarely heard music in this city. Also featured are Anna Weesner’s Early, After, Ever, Now, which utilizes poetry by Alfred Lord Tennyson and Deborah Garrison. Finally, the chamber music version of Jay Reise’s Yellowstone Rhythms will have its world premiere and feature an appearance by guest soloist Charles Ullery, principal bassoonist with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Don’t you need more bassoon in your life?
