Looks like Philly is getting its first bagel truck this month. Schmear It, a truck serving up bagels from South Street Bagels topped off with a Cold Stone Creamery-style build your own schmear. Wait, what? Well, the Schmear It folks explain it thusly: "Starting with the selection of a base spread, such as cream cheese, peanut butter, specialty flavored vegan tofu and nut spread, tuna salad, or egg salad, customers will then add ingredients to create their dream “schmear.” One customer might mix low-fat cream cheese, mango, and Sriracha while another mixes peanut butter, Nutella, and bananas."
Pretty wild, huh?
In addition to the customizable schmears there will also be a menu of breakfasty bagel sandwiches and coffee from La Colombe,
Schmear It is planning on donating a portion of each week's sales to a local charitable cause, "spreading some good" if you will.
The plan is to have the truck up and schmearing by mid-August with LOVE Park and 33rd and Arch being its first two stops.
