The Lodge at Waterfront Winterfest | George Sabatino’s latest seasonal endeavor, post-Morgan’s Pier, is taking over the concession stand at Waterfront Winterfest, the outdoor winter wonderland/craft fair/skating rink/all-around cold-weather entertainment center at Penn’s Landing. Wintertime revelers can look forward to hearty, hand held fare like smoked turkey legs, mashed-potato fritters and sweet-potato-and-kale pocket pies along with hand-warming spiked hot chocolate and chai and a selection of grab-and-go sandwiches from Scott Schroeder of American Sardine Bar. Le Cheri | BYO masterminds Pierre and Charlotte Calmels of Bibou fame have taken over the Art Alliance space that formerly housed Rittenhouse Tavern. The menu at this BYO-for-now bistro is classic fare like poached-egg-topped salade Lyonnaise, pate en croute, steak frites and coquilles St. Jacques. Tria Taproom | The lastest addition to the Tria family takes its name ‘taproom’ very seriously. The bar boasts no fewer than 40 taps pouring an ever-changing roster of beer, wine, cider and soda. The cheese selection is predictably top-notch, but the Taproom menu is more substantial than at the other locations. The menu kicks off with elevated bar snacks like green chile chicken wings and saison-battered cod, and shareable flatbreads combos like burrata, balsamic onions and lemon zest and fennel sausage with shishitos.
