We've been keeping an eye on Boot & Saddle for a while now and yesterday we caught word that they're going to be reopening their long shuttered (since 1995) doors in a little less than a month, September 9th to be exact.
The venue is operating under a partnership between Sean Agnew's R5 Productions, Avram Hornik and Mark Fichera of Four Corners Management (Morgan's Pier, Union Transfer and The Dolphin to name a few) along with Bowery Presents.
Here's what we know so far:
- The opening line up is solid, Ted Leo and Aimee Mann are preforming as The Both for opening night. Then be on the lookout for Grails, Palma Violets, Hard Skin and Lee Renaldo and Steve Shelly of Sonic Youth just to name a few.
- The space will be keeping its South Philly country western vibes including that amazing neon sign (see the restored glory of The Dolphin's signage) and original cowboy murals.
- The Boot & Saddle will be open from 5 p.m. to 2 p.m. every night of the week (shows start at 8 p.m.), serving 10 craft drafts along with a rotating list of seasonals.
- Oh, and there's a kitchen.
We asked Agnew who is going to be manning the stoves and he said that there's some big news, kitchen-wise. With Morgan's Pier scoring serious talent like George Sabatino for the summer, we're going to go ahead and assume that Boot & Saddle is going to be bringing in an equally big name. We'll keep you posted.
