September will be a busy month for Osteria chef/partner, Jeff Michaud, whose new book, Eating Italy, hits shelves soon. (There's a pre-release party and book signing at Alla Spina on the 9th at 8:30 p.m., and our own Caroline Russock will have a proper review of the book later in the month.) Michaud is also readying Pizzeria Vetri with surrogate papa, Marc Vetri, and fellow protege, Brad Spence. If you follow the famiglia on Twitter, you've seen how the place is coming along. Oven is on. Marble counter is in. Mid-September is the word for the opening, and Meal Ticket has the menu. It's small and straightforward, with eight pies that range from a classic Margherita to an eggplant-topped version wiith "goatzarella." There will also be a daily changing pizza al taglio, the Roman-style pie (see: Bufad) snipped with scissors, and a rotolo, which seems to be like a stromboli, veined with pistachio pesto, and a calzone. Three salads, three desserts, including fior-di-latte and cappuccino twists cranked from a soft-serve machine.

Crudo-radicchio, black pepper pecorino and prosciutto crudo
Tonno- sicilian tuna, onion, mozzarella, tomato sauce, peperconcino

Bufula- bufula mozzarella, porcini, tomato sauce
Melanzana- crushed san marzano, eggplant, goatzarella, oregano
Salsiccia-fennel sausage, roasted fennel, tomato, mozzarella

Pizza al taglio- rectangle pizza of the day(calabrese salame, roasted chiles)

Wood oven salad- roasted corn, chanterelles, green beans, prosciutto cotto, ricotta salata
Arugula salad- coal roasted potatoes, pesto, taggiasca olives

Cookie jar(pignoli, almond cookies, chocolare biscotti, pistacchio gnocchi)
Soft serve cone or cup(fiordilatte, cappuccino)
