If you're looking for something quick and cheap, Joes's Tacos (469 N. 10th St.) is where it's at for zucchini blossom quesadillas, carnitas tacos and chicken mole. This unassuming store front puts out some serious Mexican.
Of course, if you're planning on more of a high-low evening you could always swing by Alla Spina (1410 Mt. Vernon St.) for some pre-show bar bites. They've recently added some intriguing new menu items including crab and horseradish deviled eggs and an Italian bánh mi with roasted pork shoulder, chicken liver pâté, pickled daikon and carrot, and cilantro. Also negronis on tap. Just sayin'.
