It will come as news to exactly no one that beer at ballgames costs far too much money. But at least you can take solace in the fact that here in Philly, you're not paying nearly as much as most other people. According to this graph, a beer at Fenway will set you back, on average, 60 cents per ounce (that's almost $10 per pint). The average cost per ounce at Citizens Bank Park is $0.37—a pretty respectable ninth-cheapest. - How's your day going? Generally jealousy-free? Here's something that will fix that right up: Kenji Lopez-Alt posted pics from his recent cross-country roadtrip on Serious Eats, and it is almost guaranteed to make you cry. Oh, barbecue in Memphis one day, kolaches in Dallas the next? NBD! What a jerk.
- If you'd like to ramp this up from "weeping" to "punching walls," Food52 is crowdsourcing the misery by sharing readers' Instagrammed roadtrip eats—from Waffle House and In-N-Out to (oh come ON) donuts from St. John Bakery.
